Joining a Session
Join from the app, an invite link, or a browser using a 6-character code.
Joining lets you enter a ritual hosted by someone else. Joining is free and never counts against your own hosting limit.
Join in the Mobile App
- Open Bonded and sign in if needed.
- Open the Join tab.
- Enter the 6-character code from your partner.
- Tap Join session.
Bonded uppercases the code and removes unsupported characters.
Join by Invite Link
Tapping a Bonded invite link opens the app, fills in the code, and joins automatically. If you are the host, or you are rejoining a ritual you were already in, the link takes you back to the right screen instead of trying to join twice.
Join on the Web
You can join without installing the app if the host sends a web invite link.
- Open the invite link in your browser.
- If the link includes a code, Bonded tries to connect automatically.
- If asked, enter the 6-character code.
- Read the welcome steps.
- Optionally enter your email if you want to keep shared moments or receive follow-up access.
- Tap Join session.
Optional Guest Email
On the web guest flow, email is optional. You can join without entering it. If you enter one, Bonded associates that email with the guest web session and can pre-fill a follow-up Premium offer.
Join Troubleshooting
| Problem | Meaning | What to try |
|---|---|---|
| Code is rejected | The code is wrong, old, or not found. | Ask the host for the latest 6-character code. |
SESSION_NOT_FOUND | Bonded cannot find a ritual for that code or link. | Check the code, scan the QR again, or ask for a new invite. |
SESSION_NOT_JOINABLE | The ritual is completed or abandoned. | Ask the host to create a new one. |
SESSION_FULL | Someone else is already in that ritual. | Ask your partner to start a new one. |
CANNOT_JOIN_OWN_SESSION | The host tried to join their own ritual. | Share the invite with another person instead. |
| "That session has already ended" | The web flow found a completed or abandoned ritual. | Use a new invite from the host. |
| "This session cannot be joined from the web" | The ritual has no guest web token. | Ask the host for a new share link, or use the app with the code. |
| Browser stays on connecting | Network or API connection issue. | Refresh, try another browser, or enter the code manually. |
