Your Profile and Prompts

The Profile tab is what your friends see, not a settings menu. Settings live behind the icon at the top right.

Your profile has four parts: your avatar, your username, a one-line bio, and your prompt answers. Everything on it is tappable to edit.

Avatar

There are no photos in Bonded. Your avatar is a character you build from a style and visual layers. Tap your avatar to reopen the builder.

An avatar can be changed roughly once every 14 days. The app tells you when the next change is available.

Username and Bio

Field	Rules
Username	Letters, numbers, dots, and underscores. No spaces. Must be unique. Changeable roughly once every 14 days.
Bio	One line, up to 200 characters. No links. No cooldown, but it sits behind a lock so you do not change it by brushing past it.
Email	Shown, read-only. Changing it needs a verified sign-in flow that does not exist yet.

Both the username and the bio sit behind a lock icon — tapping the lock is the deliberate act that opens the field.

Phone numbers are no longer collected. The only reason they existed was lookup by number, and that is gone. The API ignores the field and stored values have been purged.

Prompt Answers

Prompt answers are short answers to set questions, shown on your profile.

To add one, tap + on your profile, pick a prompt, and write a line. Tap any existing card to edit it, or use its menu to remove it.

Premium accounts can also give each card a colour and a feeling. If your subscription lapses, everything you already wrote stays exactly as it is.

Badges

Badge	Meaning
Bonded Premium	This person subscribes to Bonded. It is not an identity check.
Founder crown	This account belongs to a founder of the app.

Tap either badge to read what it means.

Language

The Bonded app interface is in English. Greek is available as question and deck content: the host chooses the ritual language before creating the invite, and you can preview a deck in either language on its detail screen. There is no separate app-language switch.

Profile Troubleshooting

Problem	Meaning	What to try
`USERNAME_TAKEN`	Another account has that username.	Choose another.
`INVALID_USERNAME` / `USERNAME_FORMAT`	Too short, too long, or contains unsupported characters.	Use letters, numbers, dots, and underscores.
`USERNAME_RATE_LIMITED`	The 14-day change cooldown is still running.	The message gives the date it unlocks.
`AVATAR_RATE_LIMITED`	The 14-day avatar cooldown is still running.	Wait until the date shown.
`PROFILE_ANSWER_NOT_ALLOWED` / `PROFILE_BIO_NOT_ALLOWED`	The text contains a link or blocked content.	Rewrite it without links, within the community rules.
`PROFILE_ANSWER_TOO_LONG`	Over 300 characters.	Shorten it.
`PROFILE_ANSWER_LIMIT_REACHED`	Every prompt slot on your plan is used.	Delete one, or start Premium.
`PROFILE_DECORATION_PREMIUM`	Colours and feelings are a Premium feature.	Save the answer without decoration, or start Premium.
`PROFILE_ANSWERS_DISABLED`	Prompts are switched off server-side right now.	Try again later.
Avatar does not update everywhere	Cached avatar assets or account data are stale.	Reopen the screen or the app on a stable network.
