Settings, Privacy, and Your Data

Open Profile > Settings (the icon at the top right of the Profile tab) for account, Premium, discoverability, safety, preferences, notifications, support, privacy controls, and deletion.

Account

Row	What it does
Account details	Username, bio, and email.
Start / Manage Premium	Opens the paywall, or your platform subscription management.
Restore purchases	Brings a previous purchase back on this device.
Gift codes	Redeem a code at https://play.bonded.studio/redeem. Not shown in the iOS app.

Discoverability

Switch	What it does
Let people find me	The master switch. Off, and you do not appear in search at all and nobody can send you a request.
By username	Whether people can find you by typing the start of your username.

Both default on. Lookup by email or phone no longer exists in any form.

Discovery is live now. This is no longer a preference for a future feature: turning it off genuinely removes you from search.

Safety

Row	What it does
Blocked people	Review and unblock.
Community rules	The rules, what happens when you report, and how to reach a person.

App Preferences

Switch or row	What it does
Product news	Occasional emails about features and new decks.
Phone haptics	Touch feedback throughout the app.
Private Pulse haptics	Synchronized pulse feedback during reveals.
Replay the tutorial	Shows the walkthrough cards again on every tab and in your next ritual.

Notifications

Row	What it does
Device notifications	Opens the phone's system permission page for Bonded.
Connection requests	When someone wants to stay connected.
Pings	When a friend is thinking about you.
Session invites	When a friend starts a ritual and wants you to join. Turning this off does not make you unreachable — the invite is still joinable by code.
News & offers	Occasional updates about features and offers. Off by default — this one is consent, and the server records each change.

The in-app switch and the device-level permission must both allow a notification for it to arrive. Announcements about the service itself — an outage, a policy change — are not gated by the News & offers switch, and the in-app card is always dismissible.

Privacy Controls

Row	What it does
Download my data	Prepares everything Bonded holds about you as a file, then opens the share sheet so you can save or send it. The temporary copy is deleted straight afterwards.
Web funnel research data	Withdraws consent and deletes research-only funnel answers and events, if you came in through a web pre-registration link. Preferences already copied to your profile stay and remain editable.

Account Deletion

Open Settings > Danger zone.
Tap Delete account.
Complete both confirmation prompts (a first warning, then a Final confirmation).

Deletion cannot be undone. Bonded removes the account and signs the device out. Deleting Bonded does not cancel a subscription billed by Apple — cancel that separately in the App Store; Bonded warns you if it detects an active Apple subscription. Rituals shared with another participant may retain anonymous history needed for that person's experience.

Settings Troubleshooting

Problem	Meaning	What to try
A preference does not save	Network or account request failed.	Retry on a stable connection. The switch reverts and says so rather than silently failing.
Notification is enabled but silent	The device-level permission may be off.	Tap Device notifications and allow Bonded in system settings.
The data export does nothing	The export request failed or the share sheet was dismissed.	Retry on a stable connection.
Account deletion fails	The authenticated delete request did not complete.	Stay signed in, check the network, and retry; contact support if it persists.
Gift codes card is missing	You are on iOS.	Redeem at https://play.bonded.studio/redeem; App Store rules forbid code entry for digital Premium in the iOS app.
