Safety, Blocking, and Reporting

The community rules, how to report a person, ping, or answer, what happens next, and how blocking works.

Bonded is for adults who want to feel closer. The rules, the report flow, and the safety contact are all inside the app at Settings > Safety > Community rules.

The Rules

RuleWhat it means
Everyone here is an adultYou must be 18 or over. Reports about under-18 accounts are reviewed within 24 hours.
No harassmentNo repeated, targeted, or intimidating contact. If someone asks you to stop, stop.
No threatsNo threats of harm to anyone, including yourself. Credible threats are escalated immediately and may be reported to the authorities.
No hateNo attacks on people for who they are — race, religion, disability, gender, or sexuality.
No unwanted sexual contentNot in a name, not in a profile answer, not anywhere.
Be yourselfNo impersonation, and no sharing other people's private information.
No spam or scamsNo advertising, phishing, or asking people for money. Links are not allowed in profile answers.

Report Someone

You can report a person, a ping, or a specific profile answer. Reporting is available from a friend's menu, from a ping card, and from a profile answer's menu.

  1. Choose a reason.
  2. Add an optional note (up to 500 characters).
  3. Submit.
  4. Bonded asks whether you also want to block them.
ReasonUse it for
Underage user or child safetyYou believe this person is under 18, or a child is at risk.

Harassment or bullyingRepeated, targeted, or intimidating contact.
Unwanted sexual contentSexual messages or advances you did not want.
Hate or discriminationAttacks based on who someone is.

What Happens Next

  • Reporting is private. The other person is never told, and nothing changes between you unless you also block them.
  • Blocking takes effect immediately — you do not have to wait for a review.
  • Child-safety concerns and credible threats are reviewed within 24 hours. Everything else within 72.
  • Depending on what is found, we may do nothing, warn the account, reset a username, remove a single answer, limit or pause pings, suspend the account for a set time, or remove it permanently. We reach for the smallest thing that answers the report — one bad sentence is not a reason to end someone's account.
  • If we act on something you wrote, we tell you: what we did, which rule, whether a person reported it or our automated check found it, when it ends if it does, and how to appeal.
  • If you think a decision was wrong, write to the safety address and a different person reviews it.

Blocking

Blocking someone means they cannot ping you, find you in search, or connect with you. They are never told.

Manage the list at Settings > Safety > Blocked people, where you can unblock anyone.

Talk to a Person

For anything urgent, or anything a report form cannot carry, the safety contact address is on the Community rules screen. It is monitored separately from general support so an urgent report is not queued behind billing questions.
